I cannot begin to express how deeply thankful I am for all of Linda's wonderful support. She must be recognized and rewarded for it! My father and I had been having a difficult time reserving plane tickets. We were afraid that we had not been booked and that the credit card had been charged more than once. She not only made sure that this had not happened, but double and tripled checked for me. She even took the time to explain all the processes and what would have happened it the reservation had gone through, what she would have seen in the system, etc etc. Furthermore, she took the time (almost 40 minutes!) to walk me through the reservation process, wait for me while I spoke to my father on the other line about his preference of flights, help me find better flight options at a great price, and even change credit cards when we decided to use a different one. Linda was incredibly helpful, wonderfully polite and pleasant, knowledgeable, and flexible among other things. She has so many wonderful qualities that are vitally important to employers and their companies. I truly hope that the company recognizes how wonderful of an employee they have in Linda. After the charge on my credit card account for the tickets purchase, Discover was holding over $3000 on pending authorization - funds which were not available for my use and also puting my account on an over the limit status. I called Discover and while they raised my credit limit, they did not take off the pending authorization. Marci was able to take some time out of her busy schedule to work out a solution and address the situation which was timely taken care off. Her patience over the phone is worth commending. I would like to a commend April for her excellence in customer service. I had spent 3.5 hours the evening before on the phone being bounced between two airlines. Neither airline was taking responsibility for the issues at hand. Needless to say by the next morning which was 3/13/08 I was functioning on about 3 hours of sleep. I was extremely upset and concerned with the situation. April was very positive throughout the day and kept me informed even when the answer wasn’t yet helpful. The resolution took place that evening with Patty’s assist at approximately 4:45. She should be commended for her excellence. I later checked my emails for which I had sent one to the support help desk with instructions to take care of myself with the airline. So I was grateful to have someone assist me with empathy at that time.

You may or not know what a special employee in APRIL!! Without going into detail, I had a very severe problem with a ticket I purchased thru delta.com. I have been on the phone for 2 days with many people, who were sympathetic to my dilemma, but said nothing could be done and that was it. I tried again for the second day and was so blessed to get APRIL. She not only listened to me, but took the time to find out how all this happened, so I would know what happened. She even worked on her lunch hour, called me back with the problem resolved. The irony of this is that I went to your website, because that's where I purchased it. NOT SO. I was deployed recently and while deployed I bought my mother a ticket to go to the Bahamas’. Unfortunately, the airlines kept changing the times/dates and made it impossible for her to feel comfortable going. I called Smartfares expecting to be on the phone for hours and I was on hold for only 2-3 mins and Amy got my call. I explained to her what happened and she said she would do her best to get a refund from the company or get me a credit. I did not have to contribute a limb or have my cell phone surgically removed from my head (from having to talk about it for so long). That was CRAZY easy. Yesterday, I received memorable and notable support from Erica. She called me while I was en route returning home from a day trip to Quebec City. My trip to Gaungzhou booked through Smartfares had changed drastically causing a misconnect on one end and a very long layover on the other end. This info was sent to Travel Support NOT to me. Even though she was quite busy, she took the time to conference me in with Delta, with whom the overall ticket was written even though the overseas trip was a code share and the domestic was a competitor. Air travel is a difficult business to be in right now -- for travel agents and travelers, alike. Agents who have reserves of experience to fall back on are treasured. I do hope they get to the ears of the right people. My name is Stuart MacDonald and I was fortunate enough to speak to an extremely helpful staff member by the name of Cheryl. First, I am very happy to have been able to purchase my air tickets to travel back to China, where my wife is from, so she can see her family again. If I was unable to acquire these tickets, the cost would have been prohibitive and my wife and I would not have been able to get back for a visit this year and who knows when with the cost of everything going up. For this I am very happy. Second and more importantly was the assistance of Cheryl. I do believe that without her help, I most likely would not have been able to purchase these tickets. I am aware that time frames and what could be called acceptable effort on the part of the Travel Support staff when assisting customers are monitored. I'm writing this note to recognize the tremendous effort put forth by Cheryl. I know she went beyond what could be considered a reasonable time frame with me and her efforts went well beyond. I only want your management to know that employees like Cheryl are hard to find and should be appreciated for what they bring to your business. It was a pleasure dealng with her and to tell you the truth, I wasn't sure she was going to pull it off because of some complications with airline cohesiveness, but she did. We had an unusual and complicated change of plans for our vacation. A sickness in the family necessitated a switch from travel plans to South America to travel plans to Europe. I have used Smartfares.com for all my travels they have been amazingly tentative to me it wasn't back in 2007 but I've been loyal to them for all of 2008 and I book all my travel needs through them. I have never had an issue reaching a travel agent nor have they ignored my emails. I'm not certain if they came under better management but what I can say is since Feb 2008 I have never had any issues with them. Recently they revamped their entire site and I will be dead honest I have never seen a better more usable design; they went from this cluttered mess to a slick beautiful design Congratulations to the design team.
